Is Last Week Tonight with John Oliver new tonight on HBO? We recognize that at this point, there is an understandable demand for more. There is so much that the host and writers have been able to cover over the past few months!

So, is the light at the end of the tunnel now? Well, in a word, yes! You are going to see the late-night series back tonight following Industry and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, and it goes without saying such how thrilled we are to see whatever is ahead.

First and foremost, remember that there is almost no way that the show is going to be able to cover everything that happened over the past few months since it was last around, though some of it may be condensed into a two or three minute-long segment. In other words, there is not going to be a two-hour spectacular to try and make up for lost time.

Also, we hardly anticipate that the show is going to do anything at all when it comes to its format. What it has done, after all, for the better part of the past few years clearly works. The main segment takes up the majority of the show, and we have a hard time thinking that this is about to change now. What we do anticipate is that somewhere in this big segment, we will see Last Week Tonight swing for the fences. They do tend to come back after breaks with something big, and they absolutely have their pick of topics to choose from.

Of course, it goes without saying that the show will be funny. Yet, at the same time we’re also hoping that they are able to add greater context to a subject beyond what is already out there.
