Tell Me Lies season 4: Is renewal still possible?

With the season 3 finale for Tell Me Lies premiering on Hulu in just a matter of days, we do not blame anyone who wants to look ahead. A season 4 possibility is lingering out there, but is it going to actually happen?

For now, we will just frame it through the following lens: Don’t rule it out, but also do not expect that the day after the finale, we are going to get some sort of magical renewal.

After all, this is where things stand at the moment. Showrunner Meaghan Oppenheimer has said on multiple occasions that the end of Tell Me Lies season 3 could be the end of the series, as this is the entire story that she has envisioned. However, this is a bit of a Ted Lasso situation where there is still a chance that the world could be revisited down the line. The Jason Sudeikis comedy was eventually renewed for another season, and it could be the case here — but it would be surprise if that happens anytime soon. There has been no information out there in the press that suggests that there’s another story that has been figured out already for the next chapter of the show.

Will Hulu want more? That feels like a given. They do not have any series in this particular demographic that are anywhere near this successful, so it does make a lot of sense for them to push for more — provided, of course, that the right story does come around for it. We would fittingly go into the finale on Tuesday feeling like there will be a measure of intended closure — but at the same time, with maybe a glimmer of hope for something more.
