‘Breaking Bad’ season 5: Vince Gilligan talks continued plans for ‘Better Call Saul’

Better Call Saul season 1The only thing that comes close to being as excited as the final season of “Breaking Bad” coming on the air later this year? We believe it to be none other than the news that there could be a spin-off to “Breaking Bad” coming on after it. The “Better Call Saul” story is one that many a fan has been excited about for quite a long time, and with good reason: It’s an opportunity to get a featured character on the AMC show some more time to shine, and there is still enough of an air of mystery about Saul to make a solo show about him all the more interesting.

For some more scoop on just what we can expect from this character, we turn to a man who clearly knows all about the story for now in Vince Gilligan. Speaking to The Wrap, the “Breaking Bad” creator explained that the spin-off is not confirmed for the time being, and they are still working to get all of the moving parts together so that the show could happen, regardless of whether or not it is a half-hour comedy or something that is a full hour and closer to the flagship show in tone.

One mystery that Gilligan is keeping to himself right now? Whether or not the project would be a sequel to “Breaking Bad,” or something that takes place before the downward spiral of Walter White:

“I have to be coy as to whether it even could be a sequel. Because you never know, when the dust settles at the end of our final eight episodes, where everybody’s gonna be and who’s gonna be left standing.”

What’s your take on these “Better Call Saul” rumors: Do you really want to see this happen, regardless of whatever form it ends up taking? We want to hear from you below!
