Outlander: Blood of My Blood season 2 premiere date: Feb. update
Given all the discussion that is out there right now regarding the eighth and final season of Outlander, why not talk more about the prequel?
As many of you may be aware already, we are lucky enough to get an Outlander: Blood of My Blood season 2 at some point down the road. Production for it has already been wrapped, and that gives the folks at Starz one thing above all else: Flexibility. They can better plan ahead now for whatever they want to do launching the next chapter … but you are probably going to be waiting for a little while.

So what is the reason for this at present? Well, it is rather simple, and tied mostly to Outlander itself returning next month. Our conventional wisdom at this point is that we could see it at some point this fall, as Starz will want to space these shows out to a certain degree. It could theoretically be later than that, but we certainly hope not! It would be nice to see the franchise some element of momentum.
Speaking of the franchise…
Is there still a chance for something more from this world? For us personally, we do still want to live in a world where we could have a Lord John spin-off or something else down the road. If something else does get eventually confirmed, it is our hope that it gets revealed while the final season of the flagship is on. If there is one thing that Starz has been good at over time, it is supporting their franchises — just remember here how many various spin-offs the Power universe has at this point, and there are more still coming.
