Murderbot season 2 premiere date: A February 2026 update

Is there a chance we are going to be hearing more about Murderbot season 2 between now and the end of February?

At this point, we do think that we’re entering an era where the Alexander Skarsgard series is going to be more anticipated than ever before, and for good reason. The actor recently hosted Saturday Night Live and has gone through a lot of press during awards-season. Also, we think that there are similarities between this show and a big-time hit at present in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. Both of them are these genre adaptations that have a lot of humor to them, but at the same time are working to tell this broad stories that make you feel emotional in a lot of different ways. We know season 1 was successful when it first arrived on Apple TV, but we are still hoping more and more viewers are discovering it after the fact.

So is there a chance any major news is coming soon? Unfortunately, not so much — season 2 has yet to even start filming! That is slated to happen later this spring, and we imagine that everything is being set up for Murderbot to return at some point in 2027. Our hope is for the first half of the year, though we recognize that this is a show that does have special effects and those do also take some time to render.

If you are not familiar with the source material, we tend to think that season 2 is one of those stories that could go in almost any direction. After all, SecUnit left the rest of its team to better find itself in its place in the universe. Are we going to see some of those characters again? We hope so but at the same time, we are very much in a spot right now where little is guaranteed.
