Is Saturday Night Live new tonight on NBC? Of course, we more than understand anyone out there who wants more of the sketch series and soon. The problem, unfortunately, is knowing that this show typically only does three consecutive weeks of new episodes — with a few exceptions during election season.

With that, we do come bearing the bad news that you are going to be waiting a while to see the show back. In addition to this weekend being a standard hiatus for SNL, you also have to remember that the Winter Olympics are currently transpiring — that is the sort of thing that tends to take almost the entirety of NBC’s usual programming off the air.

Thankfully, we do at least know that Saturday Night Live is going to return on February 28 — not only that, but with a notable host in Connor Storrie. Thanks to Heated Rivalry, he may be one of the breakout stars of the year so far — the show did a sketch not that long ago skewering the hockey romance, and now they also have one of the actors. We hope that this does get people watching who haven’t in a good while, and also shows more of who Storrie is — after all, so much of his claim to fame right now is thanks to a singular show.

Beyond the one episode later this month, we imagine that there will be more good stuff coming in early March. Unfortunately, we are not at a point yet where official announcements are coming in about dates, hosts, or musical guests. Our feeling is that will all come out between now and the next new episode — it would also be nice to get an alumni or someone we have not seen on the show in a while. Given all the transition within the cast as of late, a little bit of nostalgia would do us good!
