‘Under the Dome’ spoilers: First a fire, and now a medical crisis

Under the DomeIf you thought that the drama was coming close to being over on CBS’ “Under the Dome,” here’s a warning: It’s really just starting, and it won’t be slowing down anytime soon. Earlier this week, we saw what happened when the residents of Chester’s Mill were forced to encounter something as dangerous as a fire, and a week from Monday, there will be something else that pushes the town to its limits: A major medical crisis courtesy of a disease that could deplete their resources.

It only makes sense that this episode is entitled “Outbreak,” and the following official synopsis from the network gives us a greater idea as to what to expect:

“The people of Chester’s Mill fall into a state of panic as an outbreak of meningitis strikes their community, threatening their already depleted medical supplies. Meanwhile, Julia continues to search for answers into her husband’s disappearance.”

Is this episode going to be a game-changer? Every one is in some way or another, but we’d look specifically towards this one or the one that follows to really set the gears in motion or some of the later events this season. While episode 2 was admittedly a little weak compared to the premiere (save for the fire), it had a lot of other mythology and rules to set up in order to pave the way for what people really want to see more of moving forward.
