‘Glee’ season 5 notes: Darren Criss, Naya Rivera, and Kevin McHale
With the Fourth of July winding down, why not do so yourself by reading some “Glee” updates? They may not be as flashy as fireworks, but they will hopefully create an impression all their own.
We begin with a something that is definitely Independence Day-themed. Darren Criss gave a performance at the PBS special “A Capital 4th” on Thursday night, and he sang a song that had the honors earlier this year of being the 500th performance ever filmed for the hit Fox series: “Shout.” Accompanied by a gospel choir, Darren had the opportunity to run around the stage, sing his face off, and have a little bit of fun with the audience in attendance. After all, there are certainly not that many opportunities like this out there for someone to perform just a stone’s throw away from the White House in the Nation’s Capital.
Check out a video of Darren’s performance below via Mjsbigblog.
Kevin McHale does improv – As for something completely different, check out a preview of Kevin McHale on The CW’s “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” revival below. The show will be premiering on the network on Tuesday, July 16, but there’s no word yet as to when this sketch (with a vocal performance with Wayne Brady) will actually air. Wayne is not an easy guy to keep up with, so we have to say that Kevin does a pretty nice job.
Naya Rivera steps out in the sun – Just in case you were wondering how Naya Rivera is spending the final few weeks of her summer vacation, here’s an easy answer: Working on her tan on the beach, while sporting a bikini. You can check out those photos here, and it proves that even someone with a schedule like hers (which includes an album) can find time for a break.
If you’re looking to see even more updates from the world of “Glee,” including hearing about all of the changes made behind the scenes this year, our advice is just to check out the story over at the link here.
