Platonic season 3: Rose Byrne on filming timeline

This morning Rose Byrne earned an Academy Award nomination — so, in some sort of hilarious twist, why not talk the future of Platonic?
Of course, the silly-but-fun Apple TV comedy featuring her and Seth Rogen is not going to get the attention of her nominated role in If I Had Legs I’d Kick You, but it is the sort of project that we love hanging around. In the midst of so many big-budget self-serious shows, we do think it is nice to have a project out there that is, to be quite frank, a good hang. It’s quite nice to spend time with some of these characters and live in their world.

In a new interview with Deadline, Byrne had a rather simple answer to when work will begin for the next Platonic chapter:
I think we’re going to start shooting in the summer.
Given both her film career and Seth Rogen’s equally-busy schedule with The Studio, we do recognize that they may not have time for this comedy forever … but we still hope that they do. After all, there is a lot of entertainment value with the project — beyond just that, their history seems to suggest that they do really love working together. This is also one of those few shows with an infinite shelf life given that a friendship is really something that can ebb and flow throughout all phases of who you are. There are times you are going to be closer to each other; however, there are also going to be some instances where you are further away.
In the end, what really matters more than anything is that the story remains funny and people keep watching.
