Is NCIS new tonight on CBS? It should not come as much of a shock, but we would not blame anyone out there who is ready for the show to come back! More than a month now has passed since the events of the most-recent episode of the series, which featured one of the most shocking cliffhangers in some time courtesy of Ellie Bishop’s return.

Of course, the whole purpose of said cliffhanger was to leave you on pins and needles, and that brings us to where we are right now. Unfortunately, there is no installment tonight, and we are still a fairly long ways away from seeing the series back. The current plan is to bring the crime drama, plus both NCIS: Origins and Sydney, back on Tuesday, March 3. The reason for this is tied to the Winter Olympics next month, and then a State of the Union Address almost immediately after.

Are we at least grateful to have some sort of sense as to what lies ahead this far in advance? Absolutely, mostly because it has not been lost on us that there are a lot of shows out there where viewers know next to nothing about what the next chapter is going to look like. Here, we’re aware that Emily Wickershan’s return is not going to be some long-term thing, but there is an opportunity to get a little bit of closure on where she has been.

What is the prevailing question right now? From where we stand, that is actually quite simple: Whether or not Jessica Knight is going to tell Torres what she has been tasked to do. We tend to think that it’s likely but if she does, what is Vance going to have to say about that?
