Landman season 3 spoilers: How much danger is Tommy in?

Based on the conclusion of Landman season 2 this past weekend, it certainly feels like we are approaching new ground for season 3. After all, one of the primary stories here will revolving around Tommy Norris getting into his own oil company with the help of his son Cooper, his dad T.L., and a number of other people close to him.
When you think about the idea of a family business, of course there is something exciting about it. However, at the same time it could come at a cost. We know already just how dangerous things can be out in the fields; also, there is the fact that Tommy got a pretty enormous investment in his future from Gallino. This is a man who warned him directly that if he gets hurt in the arrangement, he is going to take from Billy Bob Thornton’s character something he loves the most. Is that one of his kids? Angela? Are options are on the table right now.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Billy Bob himself noted that Tommy has to have Gallino in the back of his mind as he presses onward:
“I think it’s a big concern … And I think particularly for his son, you know? Since it all kind of started there with Gallino thinking, ‘Well, how can I get this guy, Tommy? I know what. I’ll rope his son.’”
We certainly do think that season 3 is going to be full of danger, action, and maybe even struggle. We appreciate the idea that the second season did end in a way where there were some happy moments, but it also feels like we are inching into calm-before-the-storm territory with some of it. There’s the danger from Gallino, sure, but you also have to wonder if Cami is going to come fighting back over Tommy starting a brand of his own.
