Platonic season 3 premiere date: A January 2026 update

Is there any chance we are going to learn more about Platonic season 3 between now and the end of the month? It is a thrill to know already that the Seth Rogen – Rose Byrne comedy is coming back.

So when are you actually going to see it? That is, at least from where we sit, the prevailing mystery, one defined by many things including getting a schedule together. After all, Rogen is working on another season of The Studio, while Byrne is currently in the midst of an awards-season tour for If I Had Legs I’d Kick You. These two are as in-demand as they have ever been as performers and yet, they love working together. That collaboration is the heart of the Apple TV comedy, and it is why we are hopeful we will hear more about it before too long.

For now, what we will say is that we’d be surprised if Platonic returns at any point in 2026, mostly because there are other projects happening and this show does take at least some time to put together. Sure, it does have the benefit of not having a ton of visual effects, but there are a lot of locations and it is filmed in a way that is rather similar to a big-budget comedy.

As for what lies ahead…

Is it a little bit derivative to just say hijinks? We recognize that there are specific points in Will and Sylvia’s lives that a new season is likely to hit, but the real joy that comes from watching this show is simply seeing how the two of them get in over their heads with various schemes. Even they are both smart, they each still have this amazing ability to not get out of their own way.
