‘Under the Dome’ season 1 spoilers: Mike Vogel on building intensity
Have you thought that life on “Under the Dome” has been fairly intense so far? If so, you better take a deep breath, because as you get closer and closer to the end of the summer, that intensity is only going to build to the point where we’re at an inferno. If we want to keep this same metaphor going, remember what happened when there was a fire this past episode? The translation is that the people in Chester’s Mill are in trouble.
Just to give you an even greater sense as to the raised stakes for these people moving forward, and whether or not his character Barbie can actually continue to survive, just check out what Mike Vogel (otherwise known as the man who is super-fantastic in “Bates Motel” and “Pan Am”) had to say in a chat with TVLine:
“By Episode 11 it starts getting deep. It’s a town in turmoil. The dome is a device; it’s a fishbowl. You put a bunch of fish in the bowl and you start banging on the glass to see how they react, you’re going to have fish that eat other fish, you’re going to have fish that protect those about to eaten, and while all this is happening, there’s a whole world on the outside. Barbie thinks he’s off the hook on some things, and then another can of worms gets opened up. They’ve done a great job putting the pedal down and driving it all the way through the end of the season. Each of these last few episodes that we have just get crazier and crazier.”
We know that one of the reasons for this added danger in the dome is going to be the presence of more dangerous faces. Remember Natalie Zea from “The Following”? Well, she’s going to resurface on this show for a few episodes as a mysterious figure with some connections to Big Jim … and she’s not the only person who will turn up to shake this tiny Maine town up some more.
