The Rookie season 8 spoilers: EP on Chen, Bradford future
With the premiere of The Rookie season 8 coming up on ABC in a matter of days, now is the perfect time to talk a little bit more about relationships.
In particular, are we about to celebrate some big things for Tim Bradford and Lucy Chen? Well, all signs at present point towards it! These two have been together and been apart, but it does appear that they are moving closer to a reunion. Tim wanted her to live with him at the end of last season, but she fell asleep before he could make everything clear to her.

While there are still a lot of specifics that need to be filled in at this point about the relationship and their future, executive producer Alexi Hawley still had something positive to say recently to TV Insider about the future of these characters:
Yeah, look, I mean, I think ultimately I’ve gone on the record saying that Chenford fans should be happy this coming season, and I stand by that, but I do think that at the end of the day, Lucy still needs a conversation. It’s not as easy as just saying, “Will you go out with me again? Will you move in with me again?” Whatever it’s going to be. I mean, he did break our heart, and we’ve been working them closer together. I really love that we took the time to do that, even though it might’ve been a little infuriating to some people, but I think it needed to be earned. And so I think obviously this first episode is going to be cathartic and then we’ll see where we go from there.
We do think that The Rookie wants this story to be romantic, but also still relatable and make sense to a lot of people out there. It is a balancing act, and achieving that is really so much easier said than done.
