Mayor of Kingstown season 4 episode 9: The last before finale

Next week on Mayor of Kingstown season 4 episode 9, you will see a story that is effectively birthed in tragedy. This is the penultimate story of the season, one that is going to feature revenge, mourning, and more than likely, a few surprises. After what Merle put in motion, you have to think that Mike is going to fight back, no?

Here is what feels obvious at present: Tracy is gone. This changes everything moving forward, whether it be for Kyle or his brother on the outside. We do not think that Jeremy Renner’s character will take this tragedy lying down, but there is an inherent risk with acting too fast. After all, Kyle is still vulnerable and while Mike may think that he will be able to protect him, he can only do so much — even with all the power he’s leveraged.

No matter what happens over the course of this, it does feel to us that there’s a good chance the story here is going to dovetail directly into the finale. It certainly feels likely that at least one more person will die before the end of the season, and we just hope that it isn’t Kyle. Mike has already lost so much since the start of the series — while you could set up a situation here where it is him versus the world in possible future stories, is that really what is needed right now? Personally, we tend to think the series is better when there are specific things left for him to fight for.
