Murderbot season 2 premiere date: A November 2025 update

Given that we are nearly two-thirds into the month of November, can more be said on Murderbot season 2 in totality?

First and foremost, here is a reminder that the Alexander Skarsgard series has already been ordered for another batch of episodes. You don’t have to worry about that and based on where the first season ended, you can argue that the show can go in all sorts of directions. It could be funny at times and heartbreaking at others as we really get into everything that SecUnit wants out of its life.

As for whether or not we are going to hear more about Murderbot and its future this month, the bad news is simply “no.” The second season has seemingly not started production yet, with the plan here being that this will happen within the months to come. We’d love to think that the show could come back in 2026 and in theory, it is possible. Our major question mark right now comes down to the fact that a sci-fi series does require a decent amount of post-production, and that does take a good bit of time to put together.

For the time being, the only advice that we can really offer here is to be patient — good news is going to be coming down eventually, whether it be tied to a premiere date, the cast, or some of the specific stories. We imagine that there will be a certain amount of loyalty to the source material, though there could also be a little bit of creative liberty, as well — that is something that we have seen with a lot of different shows across the map in general. We just adored the first season and by virtue of that, we really just hope that the show can keep it going.
