Murder in a Small Town season 2 episode 9: Last before finale

As we look more towards Murder in a Small Town season 2 episode 9 on Fox next week, there are a couple of different things worth noting. First and foremost, this is the penultimate one of the season! That alone almost guarantees that it will carry over into the finale.
Beyond just this, though, we also do get the sense that we are going to see one of the most emotionally impactful yet given that the Mayor themselves ends up being front and center for what is transpiring.
