Alien: Earth season 2 renewal: An October 2025 update

Is there a chance we will hear more about a Alien: Earth season 2 renewal between now and then the end of October?

Make no mistake here that, first and foremost, we would love to hear that the sci-fi series is on its way back. Even behind the scenes, every indication that we got in advance was that creator Noah Hawley wanted this to last for multiple seasons. It was one of the biggest gambits that we’ve seen FX take, mostly because we are discussing a major franchise with a dedicated audience all over the world.

So are we going to be hearing more news about the future sooner rather than later? For the time being, let’s at least say we are cautiously optimistic. Alien: Earth benefits from a quick renewal cycle for many reasons, with the biggest one being that it takes so long to make and have a lot of special effects done for it after the fact. We don’t want there to be anything more than a two-year wait between seasons if at all possible.

If there is anything that FX may be taking their time with when it comes to a renewal, it may just be gauging the full streaming performance of the show and then beyond just that, getting a sense of what the budget for the next season may be. This does often happen with a big-time show like this, and a corporation like Disney may very well want to be cautious in advance. At the very least, this is the sort of stuff that we are actively considering as of this moment.

Now, all we can really do here is cross our fingers and hope for the best.
