‘The Originals’ spoilers: Behind the scenes with Phoebe Tonkin

The CW has come up with a pretty brilliant strategy for themselves when it comes to promoting some of their upcoming shows: Rather than releasing all of their promotional photos at once and thus limiting the buzz that they could otherwise have, they are slowly pulling them out one at a time.

For the latest example of this, just check out the new photo from “The Originals” photo shoot featuring a photograph of Phoebe Tonkin (Hayley) being photographed. We still find this to be a pretty novel (but bizarre concept), but The CW’s Twitter account seems to know what they are doing, since they will have some more official photos to post later without the cameras around.

As for Phoebe’s role on “The Originals” when it premieres, expect to see Hayley forced into a rather bizarre position. She does not want to be with Klaus (and the same goes for his feelings towards her), but she is nonetheless pregnant with his child. This creates interesting complications, given that there are so many questions when it comes to how having a child could change the original hybrid into someone possibly more sympathetic. Nobody on the show knows what this baby is going to look like, or even what sort of supernatural heritage it will have. We will likely not find out answers to these questions, either, until at least the second half of the season, given that executive producer Julie Plec will want to have the proper time to really set up the concept and the takes that go along with it.
