‘The Bachelorette’ spoilers: Details on Drew Kenney, Desiree Hartsock’s big date

After waiting around all season long on “The Bachelorette” for it to happen, Drew Kenney has something pretty significant to celebrate on Monday night’s new episode: An opportunity to go on a one-on-one date with someone that he claims to care about very deeply in Desiree Hartsock. The two parties are in Barcelona, which is definitely a romantic city that allows for all sorts of opportunities to use the show’s favorite cliches (a la “princess” or “fairy tale” that make some cynics want to throw up).

However, Drew looks to be using this date as an opportunity to do more than just romance the woman that he is supposedly falling for; he’s also going to finally call out James Case for supposedly saying that he is really here to try and get far, have America fall for him, and then be the next “Bachelor.” Check out the official synopsis of the date below:

“Drew’s one-on-one date offers the opportunity for one of the more reserved men left to let loose and open up to Desiree. They explore Barcelona, walking the ancient streets of the city and taking in its world renowned architecture. When the two stop for local tapas, this shy bachelor gets emotional, opening up about his personal hero — his recovering alcoholic father, who had turned his life around only to now face cancer. At their private dinner in a magical courtyard, Drew proves he has a spontaneous side after all. Passionate kisses in a secluded alley show Drew’s other side, but then, when the night couldn’t get any more romantic, he stuns Desiree by telling her that James – a man she has feelings for – is not what he seems.”

But is this really that great of an idea for Drew to do? It’s almost a no-win scenario; Desiree says that she wants people to talk to her about things, and she would hate all of the guys is she found out that James had said something and no one ended up telling her about it. However, if you do say something, you run the risk of being like a tattle-tale, especially since some former bachelors (looking at you, Ben Flajnik!) basically chose to wag a finger in your face if you ever took on this role.
