ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 6 spoilers: More on Nathan Fillion’s new ‘adversary’

In one of our recent “Castle” season 6 posts, we wrote a little bit about a pair of characters that will be joining the world of the show very soon. One of them is a tough, smart, and female detective that certainly leads some credence to the theories that we are going to see Stana Katic’s character start off the new season in Washington, DC. Meanwhile, the other one is a possible love interest for Alexis in his early 20s.

Do you want to know more about the latter? That is what we’re here for now. According to SpoilerTV, this character is for now being referred to as … “PI.” Seriously. Like “private investigator,” or what you need in order to figure out some key math equations. We’d like to think that they could be talking about the tasty kind of pie, but we’re probably wrong there on every count.

Anyhow, this character is described as being a “free spirit,” which creates some pretty interesting questions as to a possible season 6 storyline regarding Nathan Fillion’s character and his daughter. He was already hesitant enough to let his daughter go on vacation in the first place, largely because of what happened to her with the kidnapping during the May sweeps. Then, is he really going to be so okay as to suddenly allow her to start seeing some guy who could cause her to take more risks? “Free spirit,” in protective parent-speak, often translates to mean “trouble.” During this character’s arc on the show, we would not be surprised if he is a comic foil to Rick in terms of how they bounce off each other.
