‘Downton Abbey’ season 4: Elizabeth McGovern set for ‘Saturday Night with Miriam’ chat
Who knew that “Downton Abbey” star Elizabeth McGovern could be so well-traveled while still in the middle of production on a season. In addition to filming a number of scenes as Lady Cora on the ITV smash hit (entering its forth season this fall), she also recently took part in an interview with Young Hollywood, and is doing a series of performances with her band Sadie and the Hotheads.
It is actually for this latter reason that we are going to be seeing more of McGovern on TV this weekend. Irish network RTE has confirmed that the actress will be a part of their “Saturday Night with Miriam” show tonight, where she will be performing with her band. As you would likely expect, “Downton Abbey” is popular in Ireland just as it is in many other parts of the world, and the country receives many forms of British programming to go along with their own hits. (We compare the relationship to America and Canada when it comes to the ratio of new and familiar content.)
Hopefully, we will have a video for you tomorrow to share of this interview, and Elizabeth will at least get a moment or two to talk about her work on the show. If not, we’ll at least have a great performance, and it is nice to see her band gaining some publicity for itself after playing all sorts of gigs across the United Kingdom over the course of the past year.
Do you wish that some other “Downton Abbey” stars would get more involved in the international talk-show circuit, or do you think that they have a pretty good excuse with their busy filming schedule? If you want to see the full McGovern – Young Hollywood interview, all you have to do is head on over to the link here.
