‘Arrow’ season 2 spoilers: Colton Haynes expects a Roy Harper ‘beatdown’

Roy HarperIf Colton Haynes is going to eventually see his “Arrow” character of Roy Harper become something heroic (fans of the comic surely know what we’re talking about here…), he’s going to have to work hard for it. As a matter of fact, there’s not even a guarantee that the character will go in this direction on the show. If skeletons could talk, after all, we’re pretty sure that Tommy’s would be giving a monologue right now about how he should still be alive.

While in the West End at the “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” musical, Haynes opened up (at least as much as someone terrified of a confidentiality agreement can) to Flicks in the City about what’s coming up, and the following two sentences really sum it up rather nicely for the character:

“Roy will have to go through a little gamut, he’s going to have to go through a lot to experience the level that Oliver has because he was fighting for his life for five years. I’m thinking Roy’s going to have to be beatdown a lot before he gets built back up.”

One other issue is what happens next between Roy and Oliver’s sister Thea. Despite her really being the link that ties his character to Oliver right now, there really has not been all that much said about what will be coming up for these two. Maybe it’s because this is one of those rare shows where there are occasionally other things going on besides romance, like kicking butt and taking names.
