‘Dexter’ season 8 spoilers: Yvonne Strahovski on diving into Hannah McKay role
On “Dexter” season 8, there will be some returning faces: Matthews will have more of a presence, Jamie Batista is not going to be so sweet and innocent anymore, and we would be remiss to not mention the news regarding Hannah McKay coming back to this world. When we last saw her, she tried to deliver a middle-finger death blow to Deb by poisoning her water (strange as it was that she didn’t actually kill someone for a change), and then she shot her another metaphorical bird courtesy of the plant that she left at Dexter’s home before leaving. Not exactly what we would call leaving off on “good terms.”
For whatever reason, Hannah is going to find her way back on this upcoming eighth season, and we have a single word for you when it comes to what to expect: Chaos. It’s not good for Deb, and it’s probably not good for Dexter, either, given that he starts to get into his own head emotionally over some of his feelings for Hannah.
One person who is thrilled about the return? Yvonne Strahovski, who tells On the Red Carpet below about how relieved she is to be a part of the show this year, even if Hannah’s role is as mysterious as always. She also had an interesting insight into what it means to say goodbye to a beloved show. Yvonne was a regular on our favorite series “Chuck” for five years kicking butt and celebrating all things nerdy, and she referred to the drawn-out goodbye process as “trauma” in many ways.
