‘Breaking Bad’ season 5: Will Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul return to Comic-Con?

Breaking BadFor all of you major fans of “Breaking Bad” out there, here’s a reason to smile (which is not something that many of the characters will be doing come August 11): The show is returning to San Diego this year for more craziness at Comic-Con! Last year, there were Hazmat suits, Dean Norris dressed as a warrior princess, and it was pretty much everything we could’ve asked for.

Sadly, we do not know too much in the way of specifics right now about the show’s presence at the convention, but we do at least have a date for you: Sunday, July 21. That is the final day of the convention, meaning that the show will be going out with a heavy dose of blue.

We would be stunned if both Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul are not present, given that this is the last time (sniff, sob, cry) that the show can attend to promote new episodes. As for some of the other cast members, it could depend on commitments. Anna Gunn has a new scripted effort at Bravo, while Betsy Brandt has “The Michael J. Fox Show” and Dean Norris is working on “Under the Dome.” Basically, the amount of time it took these people to find new gigs serves as a nice testament to just how talented this group really is.

Also, we’re hoping that someone at Comic-Con turns up with a time machine, that way we can just blow through the next several weeks, be at August 11, and start enjoying what will be the beginning of the end.

There is a new poster for the final episodes, and if you haven’t seen it yet, you can do so here. Be prepared for this thing to haunt your dreams in the many months to come.
