‘The Big Bang Theory’: See Jim Parsons’ pre-season 7 gig (video)

The Big Bang TheoryWhile Jim Parsons and the rest of “The Big Bang Theory” cast will likely be back around the Warner Bros. lot in August shooting some new episodes, they won’t air until September 26. That’s a long time for any fan to wait, even if there are repeats probably playing almost 24/7 across any one of your favorite networks.

While you’re not going to see Parsons knocking on anyone’s door three times or quoting any famous scientists in his next TV gig, it could be interesting for a completely different reason: Finding out more about his past. After airing on NBC for a few years, “Who Do You Think You Are?” is moving to a brand-new home in TLC, where it will premiere beginning July 23. There’s no word yet as to when Jim’s episode will air, but some other guests this year include Kelly Clarkson, “New Girl” star Zooey Deschanel, comedienne Chelsea Handler, Cindy Crawford, and Christina Applegate.

In case you’ve somehow not heard about this show already, it’s all about tracing through your family roots in order to learn more about your past. It’s one of the few “celebrity” shows out there that celebrities want to do, given that they do get something interesting out of it in a way that they would not find on their own. These episodes were actually filmed months ago, presumably when Parsons was on some sort of a break from shooting the hit sitcom’s sixth season. Bust out your hankies: Even if you don’t need them, it’s better to be prepared. (The trailer below promises that some people will in fact cry.)

Now, we move on to some “Big Bang Theory”-related conversation. If you want to hear some more teasers on what’s coming up via Simon Helberg, our word to the wise is to visit the story we have up over at the link here.
