‘Glee’ season 5, ‘The X Factor’ season 3, ‘Bones’ season 9 start early on Fox’s fall schedule

GleeAs we have been saying for months, “Glee” season 5 has a premiere date in mid-September, but it’s not going to be the only series on Fox that is getting an unusual start time. While The CW’s strategy seems to be “start late,” so that they can pick up viewers when people are tired of other shows, Fox seems to be thinking that their shows are so good that they can get people hooked before other shows even start back up.

With that being said, we still hate this schedule. It’s all over the place, and the only real benefit of moving “Bones,” a huge hit show for you, to Fridays is that the people who are at home may actually match it live. It’s just way too scattered with too much to keep track of … and it’ll only get worse when baseball arrives. All times below are Eastern, so adjust accordingly.

Wednesday, September 11

8:00 – “The X Factor”

9:00 – “MasterChef” (finale)

Thursday, September 12

8:00 – “The X Factor” (special two-hour show)

Monday, September 26

8:00 – “Bones”

9:00 – “Sleepy Hollow” (new show)

Tuesday, September 17

8:00 – “Dads” (new show)

8:30 – “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” (new show)

9:00 – “New Girl”

9:30 – “The Mindy Project”

Thursday, September 19

9:00 – “Glee”

Friday, September 27

8:00 – “MasterChef Junior” (new show)

Sunday, September 29

8:00 – “The Simpsons”

8:30 – “Bob’s Burgers”

9:00 – “Family Guy”

9:30 – “American Dad”

Monday, November 4

8:00 – “Almost Human” (new show)

Friday, November 8

8:00 – “Bones” (new time)

9:00 – “Raising Hope” (new night)

9:30 – “Enlisted” (new show)

In summary, “Bones” and “Raising Hope” have a huge challenge on Fridays, “Enlisted” will likely struggle from the start, and there’s still a lot of confidence here in “The X Factor” despite season 2’s judging panel boring us to tears.
