‘Arrow’ season 2: Now, a different look at Oliver Queen’s past

Have you had enough helpings of behind-the-scenes “Arrow” cast photos? We hope not, since we have another one for you here. While everyone has stood around and trumpeted the promotions of both Emily Bett Rickards (Felicity) and Colton Haynes (Roy Harper), seeing Manu Bennett’s Slade get left in the dust a little bit makes us somewhat sad.

Therefore, we present you with the following: A new image, shared by the series on Twitter, of Bennett doing his best impression of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. Okay, that may not be what he’s really doing, but the similarities are palpable.

We’re beyond excited to see what Bennett ends up bringing to the show next year, mostly because comic-book fans already know that (SPOILER ALERT!) he becomes Deathstroke at some point. Granted, you can’t take that for gospel given that executive producers Andrew Kreisberg and Marc Guggenheim have clearly shown already that they have zero issue with doing something unexpected when it comes to changing things up from the source material. Categorize this in the same vein as Roy eventually becoming Speedy; it’s assumed, but hardly fact. We don’t mind the show changing things up and surprising us, as long as it doesn’t pull a “Spider-Man 3” and make us try to believe something very different from one of its villains (see Eddie Brock) than we are accustomed to. Plus, we’d never ask for this show to do to someone’s career what that film did to Topher Grace. (Too soon?)
