‘The Newsroom’ season 2 spoilers: What happens to Jim and Maggie?
When you look at “The Newsroom” as a whole, it is almost impossible in some ways to consider Jim and Maggie the Sam and Diane or the Jim and Pam of this show. There’s clearly feelings there, but there are also circumstances that seem to keep them from being together. For one example of this, look at the fact that Maggie spent most of the show’s first season firmly tied up with Don, and that is going to at least keep going moving into the start of season 2. As a matter of fact, you may have heard already that Jim is going to go out on the road to cover the Mitt Romney campaign just so that he can get away from it all.
But is he making this move a little too hasty? This is where the curve-ball comes into play. According to TV Guide, there are going to be some bad things coming Don and Maggie’s way at the end of the premiere. Does this meant that the door is open? That may be an exaggeration, but it is more than it was previously.
As for some other “Newsroom” romances, there will be some sort of awkwardness between Sloan and Don from last season after Olivia Munn’s character made her confession. The problem here lies in that he didn’t reciprocate the feeling, so it will be hard for the show to continue navigating down that road for long.
