CBS ‘Under The Dome’ premiere review: Dean Norris, Mike Vogel deliver the drama
We have been crazy excited for the premiere of “Under The Dome” starring Dean Norris (“Breaking Bad”) and Mike Vogel (“Pan Am” and “Bates Motel”) and it was everything we hoped for and more.
The premiere dropped viewers into the thick of things right from the get go with the residents of Chester’s Mill feeling what they think is an earth quake, but people start to realize very quickly that something else is very wrong. The earth quake was actually a force field being put into play by an unknown party over the town and besides it killing many people and slicing cows and houses in half, it is separating people from their loved ones. People are frightened that they are part of an experiment, infected and quarantined or under attack. The only person that really seems to know what’s happening is James Rennie (Dean Norris), who had been bringing fuel into the town for weeks before the dome appeared and it seems that he is one of our main villains.
What we really loved about this show is how the hour passed by in the blink of an eye leaving us wanting more. Even though there were a lot of characters being introduced, we bought into every story introduced and enjoyed the dynamic relationships developing. We were also happy to see that the special effects weren’t complete cheese and some were actually quite convincing. What was also really cool to see was how the outside world was dealing with the fact that Chester’s Mill was now under a dome, that we weren’t only seeing things from one perspective.
If you didn’t have a chance to catch the premiere of “Under The Dome” tonight, we highly recommend that you do… immediately if not sooner.
