‘Downton Abbey’ season 4 spoilers: The newest filming location is…

Downton AbbeyDownton Abbey” is a series that does do some location work, but when you compare it to everything else on TV, it really does not venture too much into the great outdoors . The Highclere Castle scenes are of course shot in Highclere Castle, whereas the downstairs scenes are shot at the studio. As for the village scenes, they are filmed in the small village of Bampton a reasonable distance from the famed residence.

So where has some season 4 filming taken place? How about London? We’ve got some confirmation (via Downton Abbey Addicts) that some scenes were shot in the city in the past week. We’re not going to publish any photos here, because you’re really not missing much. The major thing worth noting is that there is going to be something coming up this season that is either made to look like 1920s London or a different city in the United Kingdom.

When you consider how far along the producers and writers have to be in the series at this point, there is really not that much in the way of information known save for the basics: There will be new potential love interests for Mary, but it will take her some time to get over Matthew; meanwhile, Thomas will have a new partner-in-crime at the famed estate, and Anna and Bates still have some dramatic stuff ahead after going through a brief period of happiness.

What do you want to see take place in the city on this coming season? Stay tuned, as we will have some more news on a possible “Downton Abbey” season 4 premiere date when it becomes available. Meanwhile, be sure to check out the story here if you want to read some news about Elizabeth McGovern and some other stars of the show.
