‘Real Housewives of Orange County’ preview: Vicki Gunvalson, Andy Cohen on 100 episodes
Monday night’s “Real Housewives of Orange County” episode is not going to be an ordinary hour by any means. Rather, what we’re going to have is a look into the past as to what the show was at one point, and then a look into what it has become. For those of you wanting to see Tamra Barney and Alexis Bellino go at it over modern-day problems, this will not be the place for that.
However, what we are particularly excited to see out of this episode is an opportunity to check out the origins of this show dating back to before the premiere even happened. Many of the original stars of the series are set to return, along with still-current star Vicki Gunvalson, to reflect on what it was like signing up for this experiment in the first place. This was the first of the entire franchise to debut, so this is really an entire origin story for what became an empire. Out of all of the “Real Housewives” shows that were created, the Washington DC series is the only one that is no longer on the air.
Also, Andy Cohen stops by to talk about what made this entire property so alluring in his eyes. This was truly an opportunity for him to discuss how there was something fascinating about seeing Orange County moms in bikinis gossip in their little communities, almost like it was a real-life version of “Desperate Housewives” (our words here) without people getting killed off. Now, some of these ladies have become extremely successful businesswomen thanks to the show, and the brand has reshaped the entire image of Bravo.
