‘True Blood’ season 6 spoilers: Joe Manganiello on the issue with power
It appears as though Joe Manganiello is going to have a little bit of a rough time on “True Blood” season 6, especially when it comes to finding a way to ensure that his character Alcide stays somewhat on the straight and narrow. For the past few seasons, the character has been in many ways a hero, a loyal werewolf who stood up for pack politics, protected Sookie, and helped Sam make sure that Luna and Emma were safe. But now? He’s in a position as Packmaster that he never really worked to have, and he has to find a way to reconcile that while keeping the same guy that he always was beforehand.
However, the premiere clearly showed that he had some trouble with it, mostly because of the awkward three-way “love scene” (if you can call it that) that showed he was starting to play the field a little too much. So what does Manganiello have to say about the issue ahead for his character? Speaking to Remix, he teased that Alcide may actually need a little bit of help in order to see the light:
“He wanted no part of it because he has seen the negative side of power … I think it’s his challenge to find the positive in it, or you hope somebody winds up in his path that helps him to see it.”
One person that could help to keep him in line is his father, who we are going to be seeing plenty more of this season courtesy of the promotion of Robert Patrick to series regular.
