‘The Good Wife’ season 5 spoilers: Zach Grenier promoted to series regular

The Good WifeThe Good Wife” is already a rather large show, but it looks like that the producers have managed to secure one more person into the fold this season: The man responsible for David Lee. (No, not the basketball player … but you probably knew that already going into this.)

The news about Zach Grenier’s promotion to series regular (as first reported by CBS Studios) certainly suggests that Lee is going to have plenty more to do in the new season, which will start filming next month. For those new to the politics of TV promotions, this by no means guarantees that we are going to see the actor in every episode; however, it does make certain that Grenier is going to have a hefty role in the new season, and that the writers can call on him at any point if they need him for a story. Without that, they are more at the mercy of his other commitments.

Save for this promotion, some new possible guest stars, and the move of Alicia and Cary, much about the “The Good Wife” season 5 is set to still be the same moving forward. The show is going to be on Sunday nights at 9:00 p.m. yet again (at least when there is no football on), and there will be more of the same high-stakes drama that you call upon from time to time. After a pretty polarizing go at things last season (at least when it came to the fall half), we’re expecting a little bit more in the way of consistency.
