‘Downton Abbey’ season 4 notes: A parody, Dan Stevens, and … Chris Colfer?

Downton AbbeyYou have to hand it to the “Downton Abbey” fans: It’s been a long time since anyone in America or Britain has had any sort of opportunity to watch new episodes, and yet, the parody videos just keep coming.

This latest one comes courtesy of the folks over at The Onion, who have quite a bit to say when it comes to silliness and this show. They’ve basically created an “Entertainment Tonight”-style report that is all about there being “wizards” secretly among the residents of the house, and they have been waiting for the past three seasons for the magic to fly. After all, why else would they be watching for this long?

Dan Stevens’ movie performance – Hopefully, this is not a sign that Dan Stevens is not going to be a box office draw following his time on the show. Reports say that his first-released movie since the dramatic exit in “Summer in February” grossed less than $118,000 in its opening weekend, and also averaged a pretty paltry per-screen average of less than $2,000. By comparison, “Man of Steel” managed over $30,000 per screen.

Finally, some fun – No, Chris Colfer is not guest-starring on the series this season … but he did get to visit Highclere Castle! The actor posted this image to his Instagram page, which is still awkward to us since we actually have an opportunity to see cars parked outside the residence.
