NBC’s ‘The Voice’ finale: Carson Daly on Swon Brothers, Danielle Bradbery in finale

The VoiceSo is one of the people responsible for “The Voice” at this point altogether concerned by the sheer dominance of Team Blake Shelton? It certainly does not seem like it. While some viewers have complained about the complete dominance of country music this season, Carson Daly has an interesting (and probably true) perspective of it all: Viewers would probably complain about something regardless of what the show did.

In an interview with Today.com setting up the final stage of the competition this week, the show’s host did his best to describe whether or not there was any concern at all about the direction that the show is heading, and how this controversy compares to the one about coaches all having to have a singer in the finale:

“We don’t care at all … In season one, we thought it’d be a good idea for every coach to have somebody representing. But America’s going to complain about something no matter what you do. No one’s ever going to be happy with a competition, because favorites are leaving.

“So as producers, we can never worry about that. The most important thing to us was to let America have the show. Because when we took the reins of control and said, ‘There has to be somebody representing from every team,’ they didn’t think that was fair and you know what? They’re right. It’s their show.

“If it had been all three (finalists) from one coach, so be it. We think bringing the best singers to the finale is the most important thing.”

Whether or not the show actually did bring the best to the finale is something that we are sure many fans will to continue debating for some time, but for at least the time being we have to just accept that this is where we are. The Swon Brothers, Danielle Bradbery, and Michelle Chamuel are all extremely talented, and this could be one of the more interesting finishes in the show’s history. It could be a major David-and-Goliath story, with the underdog Michelle trying to square off against Blake and his dominant duo.
