2013 MMVAs: Demi Lovato, Drake, and Avril Lavigne among winners (full list)
There were some big moments that took place on the MuchMusic Video Awards, whether it be the revival of “Gangnam Style”, men stripping down on stage, or the fantastic light show that made for one massive street party.
In between all of the performances (which included Ed Sheeran, Demi Lovato, and more artists from both the United States and Canada), we also had a pretty impressive array of winners. Be sure to keep checking back, as this list will be updated as the night progresses.
Favorite International Artist / Group – Taylor Swift
International Video of the Year (by a Canadian) – Avril Lavigne, “Here’s To Never Growing Up”
International Video of the Year – Demi Lovato, “Heart Attack”
Hip-Hop Video of the Year – Drake, “Started From the Bottom”
Rock / Alternative Video of the Year – Serena Ryder, “Stompa”
Pop Video of the Year – Marianas Trench, “Desperate Measures”
Favorite Artist or Group – Justin Bieber
Favorite Director – Drake
Video of the Year – Classified & David Myles, “Inner Ninja”
Favorite Video – Marianas Trench, “Stutter”
All in all, the MMVAs did a pretty spectacular job of delivering some fantastic entertainment, perhaps even more so than we have seen on the show in the past. One of the biggest reasons for that was co-host Psy, who really seemed to realize that one of the points of the show was to have fun, and not just reading lines off of the teleprompter.
What did you think about some of the winners? We want to hear some of your thoughts below! If you want to check out some more updates from the red carpet, all you have to do is head on over to the link here.
