‘The Bachelorette’ spoilers: Desiree Hartsock, Brad McKinzie, and a chocolate factory

Okay, so the “chocolate factory” we’re referring to in the title is probably a little exaggerated, but who doesn’t love a good Willy Wonka reference? Just how much different / weirder would this season of “The Bachelorette” have been had the contestants all sang “The Candy Man” rather than that terrible rap earlier this season?

The video below contains a ton of sneak peeks from Monday night’s installment, including one where Desiree Hartsock and Brad McKinzie, presumably on a one-on-one date, decide to go get some saltwater taffy. Now, we really wish that Desiree was better at segues, since her whole “I smell chocolate” bit, leading her to take Brad to a conveyor belt full of the good stuff comes across as completely forced and worthy of a few eye-rolls. Plus, if we were down there we would have devoured at least a few more of these delicious morsels.

As for some of the other dates this week, there is a little bit of everything across the state of New Jersey. We’re going to get a closer look at the devastation on the Jersey Shore (as filmed earlier this year), some serious moments courtesy of a foundation, and also quite possibly the most ridiculous group date ever in the Mr. America competition … otherwise known as cross-promotion for Miss America where the men can embarrass themselves.
