This, dear friends, is the final calm before the storm for many of your favorite network TV stars. They’ve had the past month or two in order to try to do other things, but by mid-July many of them (at least the ones starring on something other than sitcoms) are going to be starting back filming. This of course includes “The Vampire Diaries,” a show that may take even more time than some of the others for a few simple reasons: It’s shot away from Los Angeles (gotta factor in travel time), it requires special effects in post, and it sometimes goes beyond the 22-episode threshold that is standard for scripted dramas.
So what is Nina Dobrev going to do now? Vacation. The actress is taking off for a few weeks with plans to get “lost,” after spending a good chunk of the summer filming the movie “Let’s Be Cops” alongside “New Girl” star Jake Johnson and Damon Wayans Jr. of “Happy Endings” fame. She’ll be back in time for filming to start, but hopefully not too tan given that vampires are supposed to be, you know, rather pale.
As for Joseph Morgan, there’s no vacationing for him, given that it was recently announced that he has a new movie gig. For now, though, what we want to share is a tantalizing tease from him about “The Originals” spin-off show, which will start filming around the same time as “The Vampire Diaries” itself:
“It would be uncouth for me to spill my guts right now but needless to say, this show is going to wet your whistle ;) #TheOriginals”
If you want to watch an interesting video of Kat Graham talking about her pre-“Vampire Diaries” days (and you should, being that it’s pretty cool), just be sure to head on over to the link here.
