‘The Newsroom’ season 2: Check out new posters featuring Olivia Munn, Jeff Daniels
If you’re excited about the second season of “The Newsroom,” you are surely not alone. This was one of our favorite new entries of 2012, and we could not be more thrilled to see that the crew of “News Night” is back again to try to make their dysfunctional TV family work. Luckily, it will be starting up in exactly one month from today.
What we have to share for you today is basically HBO’s new promotional strategy for the series, which basically revolves them placing some of their characters in what seems to be a windstorm, surrounded by the frustrations of their jobs and some of their most-famous quotes. We do like the fact that all of these quotes are powerful in some way, and they emphasize almost that this is a series that, at the end of the day, Aaron Sorkin believes should be inspiring. It tries to paint journalism as what he wants it to, while still showing its nasty underbelly in the process.
In addition to the poster of Jeff Daniels’ Will McAvoy above, we also have one for Olivia Munn’s Sloan Sabbath and Emily Mortimer’s Mackenzie McHale. It’s a nice sign that the network is already putting in the work to promote the series, which needs to have a breakout season this year to really prove itself to the critics who found the first year to be either too male-driven or too preachy.
What’s your take on some of these posters, and is there anything in particular that you are hoping to see from “The Newsroom” season 2? We want to hear your thoughts below! Also, be sure to check out the link here to watch the full trailer for the new season.
