‘Mad Men’ season 6 spoilers: The emotions that come with a season 7 goodbye
While AMC has yet to really confirm it, the following video really does everything you need it to in order to remind you, subtly or not, that the upcoming seventh season of “Mad Men” airing next year is probably the last for the show. This is when many contracts expire, and it’s also when Matthew Weiner has said previously that he plans to pull the plug on a show that has changed the landscape of TV forever.
In the video below (via USA Today), you can see what one actor in Kevin Rahm (Ted) has to say about the show coming to a close after so many years, and the sort of emotions that are involved in it. He admits that for him, saying goodbye will not be a particularly easy thing to do, and he’s not even one of the people who has been on the show since the very beginning. He also described how this season, everyone continues to say “oh, we have next year” when talking about various events that happen on set, and how this will change significantly when next year actually rolls around.
As for how “Mad Men” will end, that is one of the biggest mysteries out there. We know the connections between Weiner and David Chase, but we hope he was not too inspired by the ending to “The Sopranos” that he wants to bring that over here. We’re sure that Don Draper’s final chapter will be an eventful one regardless of what happens or even when it airs, and the question that we want to know the answer to is this: Will there be some truth to all of the symbolism that has been present in the theme song for so many years?
