ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 6: Why wouldn’t you want a Nathan Fillion show at Comic-Con?

CastleIt has been insider knowledge for a while now that “Castle” would likely not be making an appearance at Comic-Con this year in San Diego. However, parts of the internet have exploded today like angry Beckett in an interrogation room after certain notices appeared confirming that the show (alongside “Glee”) is not going to be turning up next month. It was news to many people, and thus, there were reasons to be upset.

We’re not going to sit here and say that we know anything and everything when it comes to Comic-Con decisions. We honestly have no idea what “Castle” is not attending the show, and it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. The show films new episodes nearby in Los Angeles, and it has Nathan Fillion (our personal King of Comic-Con) on the cast. If you are a sci-fi god, why are you not going? “Bones” isn’t really a Comic-Con show either, but they are going thanks in part to David Boreanaz’s sci-fi nerd cred.

The other thing that’s interesting about this move is that Fillion may end up going, anyway, given that he went last year for some “Firefly”-related events. Molly Quinn (Alexis) was also there. The show also did a Comic-con-themed episode recently in “The Final Frontier,” and that would have made for a perfect thing to talk about.

So even though we’re completely baffled by the move, it’s a done deal nonetheless. “Castle” season 6 will start filming next month, with a premiere date currently scheduled for late September (as per always) and we’ll have some scoop on the new season along the way.

Now, for some happier news. Fillion spoke out recently about Rick and Kate’s possible future on the show, and you can read a little bit more on this subject just by heading over to the link here.
