‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 9: Jason Segel, cast to have first Comic-Con panel
It’s never too late to make an impression at Comic-Con in San Diego, right? For years, we’ve always felt that “How I Met Your Mother,” while not sci-fi or fantasy in any way, definitely has that sort of geeky component and passionate following that make it worthy of this convention Now, we’re pleased to report that it is finally happening.
Studio 20th Century Fox announced today that the entire main cast of the show, including Alyson Hannigan, Cobie Smulders, Jason Segel, Josh Radnor, and Neil Patrick Harris, will be in attendance for a panel happening at a still-unspecified date. This discussion will also include a first look at the show’s ninth and final season. (New series regular Cristin Milioti was not mentioned in the announcement, so for right now we would not make any assumptions about “The Mother” showing up.)
For longtime “How I Met Your Mother” fans, this feels like a rather nice gift to reward them for their near-constant support over the years, even at times early on when it was questioned whether or not the show would be picked up. We hope that this will be stuffed full of one-liners, Neil saying “legen … dary,” and Cobie leading the audience in a Robin Sparkles singalong. (Well, we’re sure that someone in the audience will ask for it, since Comic-Con and singing tend to go hand in hand for some sort of bizarre reason.)
