NBC’s ‘Community’ season 5 notes: An Emmy note and words from Dan Harmon
For those of you who are avid “Community” fans out there, we’ve got a pair of stories bundled together here for your reading pleasure. Neither one of them is probably substantial enough to constitute a story on its own, but we like to think that they pair up together rather nicely.
Let’s kick things off here with an interesting little tidbit about whether or not season 4 of the show is actually on the Emmy ballet for Comedy Series. When GoldDerby published a comprehensive listing of every show included, they claimed it was omitted. However, a representative for Sony Pictures TV tells TVLine’s Michael Ausiello that this was just a technical error, and the show will be included for voting purposes. (Granted, we do agree with his notion that the show doesn’t really have much of a chance, anyway, following a season that was uneven at best.)
Speaking about season 4, you know that Dan Harmon is going to watch all of it before starting work on his big return as showrunner right? Well, he confirmed on Twitter this week that he hasn’t done it yet. We hate the expression “penny for your thoughts,” so let’s put it this way instead: We would pay a heck of a lot more than a penny to hear what this man has to say about what unfolded during this year. We’re still curious about how he is going to take some of that storytelling and move forward, or if he is going to come up with some crazy-meta way of wiping it off the map.
It is still interesting to us that Sony only officially confirmed Harmon’s return to the show a matter of mere matter of hours ago. If you want to read a little bit more news on that, you can do so here.
