ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 6 spoilers: Nathan Fillion in the dark on Rick, Kate’s future

As it turns out, not even the man behind Richard Castle knows just where the journey is going for his character following the proposal at the end of last season. We know that production on “Castle” season 6 begins next month, and maybe at that point we will have an opportunity to learn a little bit more when it comes to scoop about what lies ahead for Rick and Kate.

In going back to Nathan Fillion being completely in the dark, a good bit of this is a matter of his own choosing. Speaking to TVLine last week while in the process of promoting the film adaptation of “Much Ado About Nothing,” the actor explained the extent in which he does not know any details as to the story that lies ahead:

“We did that last day of shooting on a Thursday. Friday, I came in and did some looping … and then left town immediately [to] work in Canada … I have no idea, not a one. I’ve not had one email, not one discussion, not a phone call about where things are going, what’s going to happen. So I can’t even spoil anything by accident!”

One person that does know for sure? “Castle” showrunner Andrew M. Marlowe, but for the time being even he is staying quiet about what comes next. The options for Beckett are pretty simple: She has to not only decide whether or not to accept the proposal, but also if she is going to take the position in Washington DC that comes with much more in the way of career opportunity, but also leaves her stranded from everyone she has grown close to over the years.
