NBC’s ‘The Voice’ notes: Cher, Michelle Chamuel, and Usher
Before we get to the new episode of “The Voice” airing on NBC tonight, we do have a couple of stories that are worth pointing out, beginning with what may be one of the biggest names ever announced to be performing on a singing show.
On Monday, the network confirmed that for their upcoming season 4 finale a week from tomorrow, Cher is going to hitting the stage in order to perform “Woman’s World,” the single off of her upcoming album coming out later this year. This marks the first time that the singer has given a live TV performance on a show in over a decade, which makes this a pretty impressive get for NBC. While some of the younger viewers may not get the super-significance of this, we wonder whether the coaches are going to be completely geeking out over the opportunity to watch someone perform live who has this sort of legendary reputation attached to them.
In some other news related more to tonight’s show, be sure to check out the video below (via TVLine) to get a further sense about why Usher has grown so close to his only remaining contestant in Michelle Chamuel. This started for the two parties back in the blind auditions, when Michelle even surprised herself by sticking with him. They have since worked very hard and been creative with their song choices, which has led to them slowly becoming one of the two favorites to win the title in the end. (We see it as a battle between her and a country artist in Danielle Bradbery.)
