‘The Following’ season 2: Natalie Zea takes time out for ‘Under the Dome’
Is Natalie Zea returning to “The Following” for season 2? After what happened during the Fox series’ finale earlier this spring, we really don’t have any idea one way or the other. However, you should not read the following as any proof at all that her character of Claire is being killed off.
According to TV Guide, the actress, who is also known for her role on “Justified,” is boarding the CBS summer series “Under the Dome” in a role that should be pretty interesting to many viewers. Rather than trying to explain ourselves just what this role is, we’ll let executive producer Neal Baer handle the heavy lifting instead:
“Once you’re stuck under the dome, casting is fairly limited because people can’t get in, but that doesn’t mean there might not be somebody hiding out … We’ve cast the beautiful Natalie Zea as a woman who makes an alarming appearance in a few episodes beginning in Episode 9. She plays Maxine, and if you think [the show’s big baddie] Jim Rennie (Dean Norris) is trouble, you haven’t seen trouble yet. And she’ll be connected to a number of our characters.”
As for why this has no correlation at all to Zea’s future on “The Following,” it’s because production on this show is over long before she would need to return to the Kevin Bacon series to start up work. We like to think that Claire will survive given how much of a shell Ryan would be without her, but who knows what will happen? We’re sure that she will be in at least one episode regardless to try and explain what went down.
