‘Falling Skies’ season 3 spoilers: Noah Wyle talks new challenge for Tom
If you thought that things were complicated before on “Falling Skies,” just you wait until you get to this season. By all intensive purposes, we are due to see what could be the most jam-packed episodes yet. We have the arrival of new aliens, a pregnant Anne, Hal in a new physical state, and Tom taking on a much more powerful role than just a former professor trying to help those around him.
So how is he going to adapt to his new president role, in addition to the people around him, namely the boys? Noah Wyle spoke about this very subject to Entertainment Weekly back during the show’s production, and he did his best to detail how much of it will be a challenge:
“For the last two years the [Mason] boys have been clamoring for some independence and some autonomy and to be seen as young men in their father’s eyes, and Tom has been very reluctant to cut those apron strings … But now he has taken on this additional responsibility, and the end result is that he doesn’t really spend as much time with them as before. Hopefully what we’ll do is we’ll play out these individual story lines until they reach a moment of crisis where it can only be solved by the family going back together and finding those roots again.”
We anticipate the premiere tonight to serve two primary purposes. Not only will it manage to answer some questions about season 2, but pave the way for what should be an exciting series of episodes ahead.
