‘The Voice’ UK results: Did Karl Michael, Mike Ward, and Cleo Higgins advance?
Thirty minutes after the top 12 contestants on “The Voice” UK had an opportunity to go out on stage and prove themselves to the voting public, we arrived at the point that so many fans have been waiting for: The results of the first public vote. Thanks to the way in which the results were handled this year, we don’t necessarily know if the person advancing was the most-popular of the entire team, given that the coaches each saved one person of their own.
However, these artists were the best out of a bottom two, though it is also fair to say that the voters made some controversial choices. (Don’t they always?)
Team Tom Jones – Mike Ward advances over Alys Williams. Alys was once a favorite, so this perhaps was the most-stunning result of the night. However, Mike presents something different (and in a different genre) than what most voters typically see on these shows.
Team Danny O’Donoghue – Karl Michael over Mitchel Emms. In what was a little bit more of a predictable decision, Karl advanced over the rocker. Rock is just a polarizing sort of genre, and some of the older viewers out there may have not found “Radioactive” to really be all that conducive to their personal style.
Team Jessie J – Matt Henry over Sarah Cassidy. This was also exactly what we predicted, but neither one of these two had a shot at beating Ash Morgan in the first place.
Team will.i.am – Cleo Higgins over Leanne Jarvis. This one was a bit more interesting than Jessie or Danny’s teams, since Cleo was a former pop sensation that could have had a following. Did they turn out to vote? As you just found out, she pulled it off.
