‘Sons of Anarchy’ season 6: Ron Perlman on Clay’s current situation
What is going to transpire with Clay on “Sons of Anarchy” season 6? It’s certainly an intriguing question right now, but one that does not have much of answer. This is a character that cannot be described as a “good guy” by really anyone. As a matter of fact, he’s really a character that is lucky to be alive once you look at all of the terrible things that he has been a part of.
However, the strangest thing happened near the end of season 5; Thanks in part to Jax’s rise in power in SAMCRO, Clay almost became a man that you felt sorry for at times. There is still plenty of power and vengeance within him, but so much of what he was about had become weakened when compared to the new reign of Charlie Hunnam’s character at the start of the season.
Ron Perlman recently had a pretty excellent article about his work with A.V. Club, and while he did not disclose any major spoilers on the story ahead, he did give us a sense of just what sort of man Clay is, and what could be coming down the road for him:
“I’m not going to lie; he’s very uncomfortable to play. He has been uncomfortable to play since the fourth season when he started making these choices. Ultimately, it has led to his current situation, where he’s a couple of inches from undone. I don’t know where he’s going because we’re only in season six and Kurt [Sutter, the show’s creator] is the only one who really knows where he’s taking the show. All I know is that the place he’s put Clay in right now is really uncomfortable.”

I fear Clay might get out and start his own brotherhood Club or something like that, that will go against everything he ever believed in when he was part of Samcro.Either way his character might try to rise again in vengeance especially with the people he thought he could trust (Juice and Gemma). It wouldn’t surprise me if Bobby finds his way or tries to help out Clay in the process. Bobby left because he felt that everything he stood for and fought for died the moment Clay was kicked out due to his betrayal and disloyalty to the Club. And Bobby doesn’t believe it. It wouldn’t surprise me if Bobby goes Nomad but then again it wouldn’t surprise me if he sides with Clay and builds an alliance with him. Either way, I can not see Clay live a normal life. He might get tortured in the process but something tells me that he will regain his strength and power.
